Two teenagers, Abubakar Dahiru and Abba Bala, have been arraigned before an Upper Customary Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, for allegedly stealing two goats in the state.
The teenagers, arraigned by the Kaduna State Police Command, were charged with criminal conspiracy and theft, contrary to sections 58 and 270 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.
The defendants pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Bishen, told the court that the complainant, Musa Makama, reported the matter at the Kafanchan Divisional Police Station on March 19.

Bishen said the defendants stole two of the complainant’s goats, with one of them found in their possession already slaughtered.
The prosecutor, thereafter, prayed the court for an adjournment to try them summarily.
In his ruling, the presiding judge, George Gwani, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N15,000 each and a surety in like sum.
Gwani, therefore, adjourned the matter until April 4 for further mention.
