The Kaduna State Peace Commission has enjoined the residents of the state to remain calm over Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
The commission appealed for cooperation and understanding from the citizens, promising to hold stakeholders’ engagements.
The Kaduna State Peace Commission in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Executive Vice Chairman, Dr Saleh Momale, commended “the political class for adhering to their commitment to peaceful elections signed on 15th December 2022.”
“As the nation awaits the outcome of the elections at various levels, the commission urges the people of the state particularly the youths, party supporters, leaders of political parties, and the candidates to abide by the provisions of the law at all times

“All must eschew all forms of provocation, incitement, or non-peaceful reactions arising from the outcome of the elections.
“In general, citizens conducted themselves in an orderly manner, respecting the laid down procedures for the conduct of the elections across the state,” it stated.
The commission added that “key governments’ institutions, security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, and the media worked in synergy in ensuring the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections.”
The Kaduna State Peace Commission, however, appealed for a similar level of cooperation and understanding, adding that “there will be engagements with all stakeholders in the state in ensuring that the elections take place in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.”
