2023: Ex-Rep leads other aspirants with inspiring online poll

A former member House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo is presently commanding strong support and admiration through an online poll to test the popularity of senatorial aspirants in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

Ekpo, the Director-General of Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum, has inspired residents, indigenes, and well-wishers of the Senatorial District to believe in the possibilities and latent resources that lie within the area and his ability to provide selfless and result-oriented representation in the senate from 2023.

Polls have shown that more than any other aspirant for the senate in 2023 in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District across political parties lines, he has used the online space, especially the social media platforms, to illustrate his dreams for a better senatorial district and Akwa Ibom State at large.

The online poll put together by Media Professionals for Good Governance (MFGG) shows that 50.2% of the electorate has chosen Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo as their preferred senatorial aspirant in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district state.

It is a strong number in favour of the grass-root politician who has held very strategic political and public offices and gathered vast experience in governance and administration.

The next preferred candidate according to the polls is Mr. Emmanuel Enoidem with 20.8%, followed by DIG Udom Ekpoudom a former top police brass with 15%.

Also featured in the poll are Senator Chris Ekpeyong  14% and Mr. Igwat an SSA to Akwa Ibom state governor with 11%.

The statistics showed the impact and influence of Ekperikpe Ekpo’s grassroots acceptability in which his enviable profile and several testimonials of his sterling leadership qualities have shown a life of selfless service devoid of self-aggrandizement.

In the month of January, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo made waves in most social media platforms with his rich and intimidating credentials testifying about his experience, numerous exploits as Council Chairman, and member of House of Representatives. The online testimonials emanated from people who saw the 2023 senatorial race as another opportunity to take the district higher with Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo.

They have embraced Ekpo and his vision because they believe that the idea of lifting Ikot Ekpene senatorial district to the next level of development is very timely and inspiring.

Moreover, they made a compelling argument that his motives are well thought out and grounded on a healthy desire to see the senatorial district flourish again with the citizens enjoying sophisticated social amenities and improved standard of education and job opportunities.

In recent weeks, Ekpo’s strategists have beefed up his campaigns with well-crafted biography of their principal which is helping his supporters and non-supporters see his innate desire for his beloved senatorial district and his vast experience and achievements in politics and administration.

The rich biography they shared on social media has helped Akwa Ibomites in the district develop a mental picture of what area could look like if they decide to stand by him for the 2023  senatorial aspiration.

According to a prominent youth leader in the state, Mr. Solomon Ekong, the Akwa Ibom North-West electorates have high expectations from their next senator and a man of Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo’s pedigree will match the search for a competent Senator for the district post-2023 era.

Ekpo appears to be the most prominent contender in the online polls in preparation for the 2023 senatorial contest.

No other aspirant has shown so much strength and effort to help the electorate understand and support their ideologies. His strategies have paid off, and they have earned him the nickname “Mr Let’s Fix Ikot Ekpene senatorial district”, another proof that the people believe in him.
