The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Friday, met with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt.
In attendance at the meeting was a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
Although the details of the meeting had yet to be ascertained, The Star gathered that it may not be unconnected to the 2023 general election.
The latest meeting is coming barely 24 hours after Wike met with the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe, behind closed doors in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He also received some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators led by the Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda, at his private residence in the state capital.

On Wednesday, Governor Wike met with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, behind closed doors in Port Harcourt.
Other politicians who have visited Wike recently include Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.
It would be recalled that Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, said he was in talks with Obi on a possible merger ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Kwankwaso added that merging with the Labour Party was important following the failure of the PDP and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidates to pick their running mates from the South-East geopolitical zone.
Obi, however, hails from the South-East.
