2023: PDP presidential aspirant to pay N40m for forms

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from Thursday, March 17 for the 2023 general election.

With the guidelines released on Wednesday, presidential aspirants on the platform of the opposition PDP are to pay N40 million each for participation in the party’s primaries.

The NEC has pegged the Expression of Interest Form at N5,000,000 and Nomination Form at N35,000,000 for the Presidency.

PDP members aspiring for governorship seat are to cough out N21 million; Expression of Interest Form for governorship is pegged at N1,000,000 while Nomination Form is N20,000,000.

Senatorial aspirants will pay N500,000 for Expression of Interest and N3 million for Nomination Form totaling N3.5 million.

House of Representatives’ aspirants will part away with N2.5 million; Expression of Interest at N500,000 and Nomination Form    at N2,000,000.

Those aspiring for State House of Assembly will pay N100,000 for Expression of Interest Form and N500,000 for Nomination Form.

The NEC approved a 50% reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions.

The NEC also approved the establishment of a 37-member Zoning Committee to make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions for the 2023 general election.
