The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) says 25,000 admission seekers have commenced the 2023 post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) of the institution slated for February 13 to February 17.

The UNILORIN Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Abayomi Omotesho, disclosed this on Monday.

Omotesho said the computer-based test is part of the pre-admission screening of candidates for the 2022/2023 admission, noting that adequate arrangements have been put in place for the admission seekers to ensure that the Computer Based Test (CBT) goes smoothly and without hiccups.

The Deputy VC explained that the test is expected to be completed on February 16, 2023, noting that February 17 is to accommodate any candidate that fails to sit for the test within those four days.

He stated that the CBT would be conducted only within the university campus, urging parents to ensure that their wards comply with all the test instructions.

“We are appealing to the candidates to maintain decorum and assuring that the university has sufficient capacity to handle the number of candidates enrolled for the test,” he said.

Omotesho, however, warned candidates to beware of scammers and enjoined them to only use the official platforms of the institution for information and communication.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor also advised the candidates to attend the test punctually at the time they are scheduled for, adding that “they are expected to dress decently as the University places great emphasis on decent dressing on its campus.”
