The operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three suspects for unlawfully being in possession of human parts.
The suspects are 36-year-old Sunday Akintobi, 40-year-old Oladimeji Olaniran, and Isaiah Tijani, 38.
The command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Odutola noted that the suspects were arrested on at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, by police operatives who acted on credible intelligence.
She said Akintobi was arrested in his residence in the Itoku area of Abeokuta where he was accused of trading human body parts, while further investigation led to the arrest of Olaniran and Tijani.
Odutola said while police searched the suspects’ residence, they recovered body parts, believed to be human remains, including cerebral bones.

She added that the cerebral bones were found in a location disguised as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape town on Abiola Way in Abeokuta.
Odutola quoted the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, as directing the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct discreet investigation into the case to establish full involvement of the suspects in the heinous crime.
Ogunlowo said: “As a friendly force, the Police Command in Ogun State urges the public to refrain from shielding criminal elements and to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
“Such cooperation is crucial in curbing ritual killings and other crimes in the state.”
