No fewer than eight Nigerian-Americans have emerged victorious in Tuesday’s midterm elections in the United States.
Five of the Nigerian descent winners were elected as the Georgia State House of Representatives, one emerged as a state representative in Pennsylvania, while another was declared winner in Minnesota.
The eight Nigerian-Americans winners include Adeoye Owolewa, Carol Kazeem, Esther Agbaje, Esther Agbaje, Gabe Okoye, Solomon Adesanya, Tish Naghise, and Phil Olaleye.

Owolewa, a pharmacist, was re-elected after his emergence in November 2020 as the representative of the United States House of Representatives from the District of Columbia.
Kazeem, who is resident of Chester emerged as winner to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to represent the 159th Pennsylvania Legislative District, while Agbaje was re-elected as the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Okoye, a former Chairman of the Gwinnett County Democratic Party, was also elected as the representative of the Georgia House of Representatives in District 102, while Adesanya was declared winner in the U.S. District 43 in Georgia.
Naghise was elected in the Georgia House of Representatives District 68, while Olaleye emerged victorious from District 59.
