The Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, popularly called West, has escaped attack after he and his entourage were chased out of Iloro community by youths over alleged poor performance and imposition.
It was gathered that Ogunmolasuyi, who represents Owo Constituency 1 at the assembly, was chased out of Iloro community when he was meeting with the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area.
Some youths, in a video obtained by The Star, were heard pouring invectives on Ogunmolasuyi while pursuing the lawmaker and his entourage.
Speaking on the incident, the lawmaker denied being chased out of the community, alleging that he was attacked by thugs mobilised by his opponents in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ogunmolasuyi, who said he had performed well by giving scholarships to his constituents and embarking on several developmental projects, stated that he was at Iloro community for a meeting when a PDP aspirant from the area mobilised thugs to the venue.
The lawmaker said: “Nobody can chase me away. It can never happen. We held a meeting at Iloro ward and after I left, I was told there was an attack by the PDP members.

“I was not there for general campaign. I was there to meet my party members. The incident happened after I had left. Those people in the video are hoodlums.
“My contribution is enough to speak for me. If I have not done well, I will not say I want to re-contest.
“I have represented my people well and done many things. This is why I can confidently say I want to seek re-election,” Ogunmolasuyi stated.
Reacting to the allegation, the Ondo PDP spokesman, Kennedy Peretei, said the lawmaker was chased out of the community by APC members.
Peretei said: “It was an APC meeting. PDP members were not there.
“The APC members drove him away because he is seeking re-election.”
