The National Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC) and presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, has promised to build on the progress made by the current administration in the power sector if elected as President of the country in 2023.
Tinubu made this known while speaking to APC delegates in Delta State on Saturday as part of his consultations ahead of the party’s presidential primary election.
The former Lagos State Governor, who spoke about his agenda for the country, said: ‘The size of the economy is restrained by the size and capacity of our power infrastructure, for it is the ability to generate and distribute electricity that powers industrial processes and lights our households throughout the day and into the night.
“Sufficient power generation not only brings light into the darkness but also illuminates the path leading from poverty to prosperity, from limited growth to an unprecedented acceleration in development.”
The presidential aspirant further, while stressing the importance of public-private partnerships in plugging the gap between current power provision and demand, said bankable power infrastructure would contribute to encouraging Nigeria’s talented sons and daughters to return home from the diaspora.

Asiwaju also paid a courtesy visit to Oba of Benin, Ewaure II Asiwaju, before meeting with the party’s delegates in Benin, the Edo State capital.
