An upper Shari’a High Court sitting in Kofar kudu, Kano State, has adjourned its sitting to continue hearing a case of blasphemy against Abduljabbar Kabara over the absence of the presiding judge, Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola, who was said to be attending to health challenges.
The court’s spokesman, Muzammil Ado Fagge, disclosed to newsmen in his office on Thursday that Justice Yola would not be available for the case due to health reasons.
The case has been slated for June 2, 2022, for continuation of hearing.
The court last sat on the case on May 12, 2022, when the accused sacked his legal team for the third time in the case that started in 2021.

Sheikh Abduljabbar, a Kano-based Islamic cleric is being accused of, and standing trial for, blasphemous statement against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) capable of inciting public peace.
It would be recalled that in the previous court session, the court ordered for provision of legal representation for Abduljabbar from the Legal Aid Council over absence of lawyers who will stand for him after the sack of his counsel.
