The All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in Kano State have called on the party’s national leadership to initiate a strategic reconciliation mechanism to pacify aggrieved members ahead of the 2023 general election.
The party’s stalwarts made the call recently when the North West Zonal Vice Chairman, Salihu Lukman, held a meeting with them during a fact-finding tour in the zone.
The zonal publicity secretary of the party, Musa Mailafiya Mada, in a statement, said the unity of the party took centre stage at the meeting as they prepared for the election.
“The participants emphasised the need for a strategic reconciliation initiative that will address the post-primary election grievances where some of the contestants that did not make it felt offended in one way or the other.

“Malam Salihu Lukman explained to the participants some measures put in place at the zonal level to ensure unity among critical stakeholders and the role of leadership at various levels in achieving and sustaining unity,” the statement read in part.
The statement added that the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who was represented by his Chief of Staff/Head of Service of the state, expressed satisfaction with the manner in which the party’s affairs were being handled at the zonal level.
