The Managing Director of Arise TV, Ms Ijeoma Nwaogwugwu, has resigned.
The Star learnt that the influential journalist quit her job on Wednesday.
Multiple sources confirmed the resignation to The Star on Thursday.
The reason for her exit was not known as at the time of filing this report.
Attempt to speak with Ijeoma on the issue proved abortive.
Ijeoma is a high-flying journalist who has both private and public sectors experience.
She edited all the titles of Thisday Newspapers. She was the Group Business Editor from where she rose to become the Saturday Editor, Sunday Editor and ultimately the Daily Editor.
In all, she was Editor for 11 years.
Ijeoma left Thisday as Daily Editor to become the Managing Director of Arise TV in 2018.
Arise TV and Thisday are owned by Nduka Obaigbena.
Under Ijeoma’s headship, Arise TV came into prominence.
Ijeoma, a graduate of Accounting from the University of Lagos, was listed as one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women In Nigerian Media in 2020.
