A medical doctor, drug supplier and driver who provide services to bandits have been sentenced to three years jail term in Niger State.
The convicts are Abubakar Abdullahi, Abubakar Musa and Kabir Mohammed.
A Minna Senior Magistrate Court found the suspects guilty of aiding and abbetting kidnappers in the course of providing services to the bandits.
Presiding Senior Magistrate, Hajiya Fati Kabir, ordered that the convicts must serve the jail term with hard labour.

“You are hereby convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment each without an option of fine and, in addition, with hard labour,” the magistrate ruled.
Police prosecutor, ASP Thomas Irimiya Peter, said the convicts were arrested after a tip-off on April 14, 2022 in Zugurma area in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.
“The tip off was based on the fact that the suspects are supplying some armed bandits terrorising Mashegu area with illicit drugs and they also serve as doctor and transporter to the bandits,” the police prosecutor said.
