He later announced his withdrawal as the lead negotiator in securing the release of the abductees after he alleged a threat to his life by the Federal Government.
It was however learnt that Mamu was flown back to Nigeria by Interpol in the early hours of Wednesday after he was interrogated and nothing was found incriminating against him.
It was gathered that Tukur Mamu was accompanied by his two wives and one other person.
He is expected to arrive at Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano on Wednesday afternoon.
