The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adamu Abdullahi, is currently meeting with the senators elected on the platform of the ruling party.
Adamu, who arrived at the National Assembly complex at about 2 pm, moved straight to the office of the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, for a brief meeting before the general meeting.
Lawan had earlier announced that a meeting with the APC National Chairman will hold by 2 pm at the National Assembly premises.
The Senate President made the announcement at the plenary on Wednesday while reading the letter signed by the Senate Deputy Majority leader, Ajayi Borofice.
The Star had reported that three senators of the APC resigned their membership of the ruling party.

The senators are Ahmad Babba Kaita (Katsina North), Lawal Gumau (Bauchi South), and Francis Alimikhena (Edo North).
Their resignation and defection were made known in three separate letters read by the Senate President at plenary on Tuesday.
While Kaita and Alimikhena defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gumau, on the other hand, defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The defection by the three lawmakers has reduced the total number of APC senators from 70 to 67 in the upper chamber.
