Adebogun lauds Tinubu for rehabilitating Ikorodu-Epe road

A frontline educationist and school proprietor in Lagos State, Dr Oladega Adebogun, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the “speedy and comprehensive” rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Imota-Itokin-Epe Road in the state.

Adebogun said the road was ranked as one of the worst in Nigeria and had become an albatross to past administrations.

The proprietor said this in an interactive session with journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

He said President Tinubu, by the rehabilitation of the road, renewed the hope of residents and commuters in the community, who he said had virtually lost hope that the road which was in a very deplorable condition would not be repaired.

Tinubu to workers: My govt’ll implement new minimum, living wages

“The road usually gets abandoned during the rainy season and had posed a recurrent nightmare to residents and commuters along the axis from Ikorodu through Imota to Itokin and beyond to Epe. It was a particularly harrowing commute for road users during vacation and festive periods,” Adebogun said.

Adebogun noted that it was a huge relief for residents when the rehabilitation was completed in March 2024, reducing Ikorodu to Epe travel time from about two hours to less than 30 minutes.

He added that the rehabilitation of the road was a positive pointer and attestation to the fact that many more development projects promised by President Tinubu’s administration would be completed and delivered.

Adebogun also commended the Minister of Works, David Umahi; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and the senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Adetokunbo Abiru; for the various roles they played in the rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Epe road.

Adebogun, therefore, enjoined Nigerians to “put aside mundane differences and join hands with the government for the full realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
