Adeboye: Naira’ll be stronger than dollar soon

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says naira would be stronger than the United States dollar in the foreign exchange market soon.

Adeboye made the prediction during the RCCG’s monthly thanksgiving service on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

In the black market, the buying rate of the dollar is about N915, while the currency sells at N918.

The naira exchanged at N740.38 against the dollar at the investors and exporters window on Friday, September 1, 2023.

Adeboye, while speaking on the topic, ‘Uncommon Miracles’, on Sunday, said there was a period naira competed favourably with the U.S. dollar.

“The days when naira will be stronger will come back; those glorious days will return when that happens you will know,” the revered cleric stated.

Adeboye further described a miracle as something unique, saying “Miracle is totally unusual. God can give you a miracle that will be difficult to share.”

The depreciation of the currency (naira) alongside the effect of the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), fondly called petrol, has led to more hardship in Nigeria.
