The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said some people mocked him when he was deeply saddened by the loss of his son, Dare, who died in 2021 at the age of 42.
Adeboye said this on Tuesday at the ongoing 70th Annual Convention of the church along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The programme, which started on Monday, August 8 and expected to end on Sunday, August 14, was held with the theme, ‘Perfect Jubilee’.
The revered cleric, who spoke on the topic ‘Born Free’, said God carries His children who make themselves carryable even at their difficult moment.
Pastor Adeboye further recalled how God carried him when he was in the saddest period of his life in May 2021 after the death of his 42-year-old son.

“Some of you have heard this before: when I was in the saddest period of my life, with so many questions and I know that even in my deep sorrow some people were still laughing at me, I got a text from one of my daughters.
“All she said was: ‘Daddy, let God carry you’. And that put an end to any problem; it ended my sorrows. It renewed my faith,” the octogenarian said.
Adeboye, however, stressed that God still loves him despite the loss of his son.
Dare, who died last year, was Adeboye’s third child.
He was based in Akwa Ibom State with his family when he passed away.
The deceased was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35 before his death and father to three daughters.
