For the second time, three Northern presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday met in Abuja to work out the possibility of producing a consensus candidate ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this is.
The immediate past Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Bauchi and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, earlier met in Bauchi over the matter.
Saraki, who addressed journalists at the end of the meeting, dismissed insinuation that the meeting was a plot to shut some aspirants from getting the party’s ticket, saying those propagating such are those who do not see anything good.
“We are not shutting anybody out, as we said, it is not about shutting anybody out, it is about uniting everybody for the interest of this country.
“You will see when we begin to go round. As we said we are going to see all other aspirants of the party,” he emphasised.
