AGN: We’ll contact actress Genevieve over rumoured mental breakdown

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rolland, has promised to reach out to popular Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, over the speculations that the actress was suffering a mental breakdown.

Fans of Genevieve had on Tuesday raised concern over the actress’ safety after she deleted pictures and videos on her Instagram page and unfollowed everyone.

One Dr Penking, on his Twitter handle @drpenking, said the move by the popular actress was unusual, adding: “Someone should please check on her. No one is above mental breakdown.”

Another fan of the 43-year-old actress, Francis Awuche, called on the AGN to reach out to Genevieve to know the situation of things with her.

Reacting to the development, the AGN President said he was not aware of Genevieve’s exit on Instagram.

Rollad, however, promised to reach out to the famous actress.

“Maybe I will have to reach out to her since I am just getting this news from you now. I have not learnt of that.

“I will reach out to her to know whether she’s safe or not after your call. I cannot just conclude with hearsay or rumor,” Rolland told NAN.

Meanwhile, Genevieve took to her Instagram story on Wednesday and shared a video of herself painting.

The actress appeared excited while painting in the video.

She shared the video with the caption: “Mindfulness.”

Genevieve, who was the first actress to win the Africa Movie Academy Award in a leading role in 2005, has over 8.5 million followers on Instagram.
