The screening committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied screening former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the party’s presidential primaries.
The chairman of the screening committee, John Odigie-Oyegun, made this known on Friday.
Odigie-Oyegun, who spoke to newsmen after he submitted his report to the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, at an ongoing meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja on Friday, said the screening committee did not screen Jonathan as one of the party’s presidential aspirants.
The committee held the screening exercise between Monday and Tuesday this week
The Star had reported that the APC declared that Jonathan is not a member of the ruling party and not eligible to contest for the presidency.

There have been subterranean moves by some forces within and outside the Villa to foist Jonathan on APC as a consensus candidate.
A North-West governor was the arrowhead of the plot.
The Star learnt that the governor was positioning himself for the vice presidential slot.
But sources in the Presidency said Buhari is not part of the scheme and “would not support such arrangement”.
Jonathan won the 2011 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but lost the attempt to secure a second term in office in 2015, following the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s President.
