Former Governor of Nasarawa State and serving senator, Abdullahi Adamu, is to be crowned, any moment from now, the National Chairman of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adamu is going to be the fourth former governor to be made national chairman of the ruling party.
His emergence which is due to be formalised followed the withdrawal from the race of six other chairmanship aspirants after high-level negotiation spearheaded by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The President has preached consensus candidacy and made stakeholders, especially the governors, to agree on the idea.
But the chairmanship aspirants were adamant till Friday, insisting that they would test their popularity at the Saturday, March 26 National Convention holding at Eagle Square, Abuja.
