Bandits invade Kaduna school, kidnap pupils

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have invaded LEA Primary School, Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted many pupils.

The number of persons abducted by the bandits could not be immediately ascertained but residents said they were about 100.

It was gathered that the head teacher of the school and some other staff were among the victims abducted by the gunmen during an attack which occurred at about 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

A resident, identified simply as Shitu, disclosed that most of the pupils ran out of their classes when they sighted the bandits on the school premises.

Another resident, Lawal Kuriga, added that the abducted victims were marched into the forest.

The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, has however yet to speak on the incident as of press time.
