Bandits kill man, kidnap wife, neighbour in Zamfara

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed a man, Ashiru Nagoma, and abducted his wife and neighbour in Buluku, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The incident was confirmed by the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Abubakar disclosed that Nagoma was killed in the early hours of Tuesday after he resisted an attack by the gunmen.

He said the bandits, in turn, killed him and kidnapped his wife and neighbour.

The police spokesman, however, debunked reports that the bandits attacked a mosque in the community, saying: “The bandits did not attack the mosque. They had a target, and it was the man that was attacked. His wife and neighbour were abducted.

“Our rescue team is on top of the situation and is making frantic efforts to make sure that the perpetrators are brought to book and the abducted victims are rescued.

“An investigation into the incident is also ongoing.”
