Bayern Munich to appoint Mourinho as coach

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are reportedly considering the appointment of Jose Mourinho as the new manager of the club.

This followed the recent poor performance of Bayern in the Bundesliga.

Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen outplayed Bayern Munich for a 3-0 victory on Saturday that sent them five points clear at the top of the league and put them firmly in charge of the title race.

Bayern, chasing a 12th straight league crown, were nowhere to be seen and managed only a single shot on target over the 90 minutes.

Xabi Alonso’s team, who also twice hit the woodwork, are now on 55 points, with Bayern in second place on 50.

AS Roma sack Jose Mourinho after 2 years in charge

Serie A club AS Roma sacked Mourinho in January 2024 after two-and-a-half years in charge.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane would likely welcome the arrival of Mourinho at Bayern, having formed a strong bond with the Portuguese boss during his time at Tottenham. Mourinho is reportedly learning German ahead of potentially taking the Bayern Munich job, Sky Sports reports.

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has reportedly fallen out with Matthijs de Ligt after dropping him for their dismal 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

South Korea boss Jurgen Klinsmann is facing calls to be sacked by politicians after his side suffered a shock defeat to Jordan in the Asia Cup.
