Be steadfast in the face of challenges, Bishop Odedeji urges women

The Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, The Rt. Revd. Dr. James Odedeji, has called on women and the girl child in the diocese to be steadfast in the face of challenges of life.

He made this call on Sunday in his sermon during the rededication of the Diocesan Women, Girls’ Guild, Royal Gems & Vessels held at the Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church Cathedral in Lagos.

While speaking on the theme, “No genuine road is smooth, but the dry bones will rise again”, Bishop Odedeji picked his text from 2 Corinthians 12 Vs 8-10, and admonished that God has not promised a problem-free life, but that there’s hope of a better tomorrow.

He stated further that when you’re righteous, you’re an enemy to the unrighteous, and that no good road is smooth in life.

His words: “The God of the good time is still the God of the bad time. The same God of the mountain is God of the valley.”

According to Odedeji, life’s difficulties is not with the intent to destroy, but rather to let one know that God is God, even in the midst of tribulations.

Earlier in her goodwill message, the Diocesan Women Leader and wife of the Diocesan, Dr. Lydia Odedeji, the initiator of the Royal Gems and Vessels, appealed to the women to be available for their children’s training and upbringing, as well as love their husbands.
