Best JAMB candidate gets N2.5m cash gift

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Erisco Foods Limited, Dr Eric Umeofia, has presented a cash gift of N2.5 million to the best candidate in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Kamsiyochukwu Umeh.

Umeofia made this known on Friday, July 7, 2023.

Umeh, a student of Deeper Life High School, Mowe in Ogun State, emerged as the best candidate in the 2023 UTME with a cumulative score of 360.

The student, an indigene of Anambra State, scored 99 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics, 97 in Physics, and 66 in English in the examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The Erisco Foods CEO also announced various cash rewards to the administrator of Deeper Life High School, the four subject teachers, and two other best students of the school.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, recently declared Umeh as the best candidate in the 2023 UTME.

Oloyede, while speaking at the 2023 policy meeting for tertiary institutions in Abuja, disclosed that Stephen Aguele from Edo State came second with 358, while Oluwafemi Ositade from Osun State scored 358 to occupy the third position.

The JAMB boss added that Gbolahan Ayinde from Lagos State scored 357, John Fulfilment from Edo State scored 356, while Chimdubem Ugonna from Imo State scored 355.
