American billionaire, Bill Gates, announced he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Gates, who has donated millions to pandemic relief efforts, revealed via his Twitter handle on Tuesday that he has tested positive for coronavirus.
The 66-year-old billionaire stated that he was isolating with mild symptoms, adding that he was vaccinated and boosted.
It was not clear if this was the first time he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The billionaire Microsoft founder also said on Tuesday that the Gates Foundation was “coming together” for the first time in two years and that he’s meeting them virtually on Microsoft Teams.

“We will continue working with partners and do all we can to ensure none of us has to deal with a pandemic again,” he said.
He has been outspoken about how the global health authorities should respond to the pandemic and distribute vaccines.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation said it has donated millions to organisations including Gavi and the World Health Organization (WHO) to fund testing, treatments, and vaccine distribution.
