Blackout in Kano over power station repair

The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has said there would be blackout in Kano due to maintenance activities.

KEDCO, in a statement issued on Saturday by Corporate Communication Officer, Ibrahim Shawai, said the company would carryout some repairs at the Kumbotso Transmission Station.

The statement read: “This is to kindly notify the general public that there will be no supply of electricity in Kano franchise today, Saturday 23rd July, 2022 between 10am and 6:30pm.

“This is to allow for repairs to be carried out at the Kumbotso Transmission Station, which supplies Kano complex in order to improve the quality of supply to our numerous customers.

“While we apologise for any inconveniences, we assure our customers of regular supply as soon as the engineers complete repairs on the equipment.”
