‘Bloody serpent’: Akeredolu’s wife slams husband’s niece for supporting Aiyedatiwa

Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of the late former governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has lashed out at her husband’s niece, Funke Akeredolu Aruna, for supporting the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Aiyedatiwa had declared his intention to contest for the number one seat in Ondo State.

Aiyedatiwa, who was Akeredolu’s deputy, succeeded the late former governor following his death in December 2023.

Akerdolu, who was recently buried in Ondo State, died of prostate cancer in Germany at the age of 67.

However, Betty, in a post on her Instagram page on Monday, March 4, 2024, described Funke, the former deputy chief protocol to Akeredolu, as a “bloody serpent”.

The late former governor’s wife added that time will tell if Funke “is truly lucky”.

She wrote: “Behold the face of Aketi’s niece, Funke Akeredolu Aruna, the former deputy chief protocol to Aketi, shamelessly parades as ‘I’M LUCKY’. Bloody serpent 🐍! Time will tell if she is truly lucky!”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed April 16 for the governorship primary election in Ondo State, while the main election will be held in November 2024.
