The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested popular singer, Azeez Fashola, well known as Naira Marley, over an ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, fondly called Mohbad.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known via a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday night.
“Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities,” Hundeyin stated.
This is coming barely a few days after police operatives arrested controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, over the singer’s death.
The Command had earlier invited Sam Larry and Naira Marley for questioning over Mohbad’s demise.

Naira Marley later announced his readiness to return to the country to assist in the ongoing investigation into the death of his former signee, adding that “I have no hand in the death of Ilerioluwa, either directly or indirectly”.
The Lagos State Police Command had announced the conclusion of the autopsy on the remains of Mohbad, who died on September 12 at the age of 27 and was buried the next day.
The Command had earlier exhumed the singer’s remains for autopsy following the circumstances surrounding his demise.
It also inaugurated a special investigation team to probe the death of the famous singer just as Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join in the investigation.
