President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr Abdullahi Bala as the new Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).
The appointment was made known via a statement issued by Mr Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, the Press Secretary to the Minister of Police Affairs, on Tuesday.
He said the appointment was with immediate effect.
Ehisienmen stated that Bala took over from Mr Ahmed Aliyu, noting that the latter had resigned his appointment to contest gubernatorial primaries in compliance with the directives of the President.
He said the new Executive Secretary of the Police Trust Fund, born on August 18, 1967, in Sokoto North Local Government Area, holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
He said: “His work career began in 1992, when he was appointed as Personal Officer II, Admin and Political Affairs Department, Cabinet Office, Sokoto.
“His career trajectory got to its apex in May, 2009, when he was appointed as Permanent Secretary in Sokoto State Civil Service.

“The highly cerebral and resourceful administrator, worked as Permanent Secretary in several Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state.”
Ehisienmen added that the new NPTF Executive Secretary had also held several other positions including Secretary to Sokoto State Government Committee on Audit Inspection Report.
According to him, he has also served as the Chairman, Health Financing Technical Group and Secretary, Sokoto State Government Policy Council on the State of Emergency on Education.
