Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The latest development was made known in a statement issued by Chelsea on Saturday.
The club added that Tuchel has been self-isolated.
Chelsea are likely to be without their coach as they prepare to travel to Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates to partake in the FIFA Club World Cup as European champions.
“The Chelsea head coach will now follow necessary self-isolation protocols and hopes to join up with the team in Abu Dhabi later next week.
”The team fly out for the Club World Cup following this afternoon’s FA Cup clash with Plymouth Argyle.
”Assistant coach Arno Michele spoke to the media before-kick and revealed that he would be in close communication with the boss,” the club stated.
