Blessing Adeniran, the mother of a 12-year-old student of Chrisland International School in Lagos State, Whitney, says the autopsy carried out on her daughter revealed that she died of electrocution.
The Star had reported that Whitney, a student of Chrisland School, Opebi in the Ikeja area of Lagos, died during the school’s inter-house sports competition at Agege Stadium on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
The parents of the deceased later accused the school of negligence, saying the school made no provision for emergency response at the event.
They stressed that Whitney was not administered first aid at the scene of incident, adding that the girl had no pre-existing heart condition despite the doctor’s allusion to a cardiac arrest.
However, the mother of the deceased, in an Instagram live video on Wednesday, disclosed that the autopsy carried out on Whitney revealed that she was electrocuted.

She said: “The autopsy result is out and Desola was electrocuted. My daughter died of electrocution.
“I have been subjected to trauma for the past two weeks. Tomorrow will make it three weeks my baby died.
“The school made me think I was crazy They started pushing the narrative of she was sick. They sent letters and publications out.
“People insulted me and my family. My child was electrocuted to death. I told the school I don’t want trouble. All I want is answers. They came to my house and knelt down.
“I begged, I pleaded, I said ‘Mrs Amao please, I don’t know how autopsy is being done but I have browsed it and the image is scary. Please my daughter is already dead, don’t make me put her through that, they will butcher her. I beg you in the name of God, you are a mother, help me investigate and find out what happened’.
“She said she doesn’t know. They refused to investigate.
“My daughter was butchered for autopsy. She was opened up. They took part of her kidney, liver, stomach contents, blood, brain, bone marrow.
“Omodesola was butchered just because Chrisland kept protecting their reputation,” Adeniran disclosed.
The management of Chrisland School had, in a statement, claimed Whitney reported “not-too-buoyant” health on January 20, 2023, contrary to her parents’ claims.
Chrisland School also dismissed insinuations that there was foul play in the death case, adding that the student slumped in public.
The Lagos State Government later ordered the closure of the school over the death of the student.
