Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola has reacted to the sex-for-movie-role allegations levelled against him on the social media platform, Instagram on Thursday, September 9.
The accusation published by a popular blogger on Instagram alleged that the actor has been involved in a sex-for-movie-role scandal with one Nike Hamzat alongside several other budding thespians in his drama group, OAFP.
But in an Instagram video on Thursday, the movie star dismissed the allegation, saying such is aimed at smearing his reputation.
He further challenged any actress who he has ever demanded sexual favours from in return for a role in any of his movies to come forward and speak the truth before the public.
The popular actor said he initially resolved to keep mum over the allegations but decided to speak on it after his colleagues advised him to do so.
He said: “You don’t need to reply to everything, that’s why you’re a celebrity. But there are some things that they will say about you and you need to clear it, let me clear this one.
“They said that I normally ask for sex before giving anybody a role. They said that I ask them for sex before giving them a role in my movie, me?
“I’m saying this now, and I’m putting it to everyone of them, everybody that has passed through me, all the ladies that have passed through me, it is only God that can make you a star, nobody can make you a star.
“But every one of them, I mean the ladies, if I’ve ever asked you for sex before I gave you any role, please come out and say it under this video. If you’re among those saying such, come forward with your proof, but if you don’t do that, you’ll experience God’s wrath.”
Meanwhile, one of the concerned actresses, Nike Hamzat, has also taken to her official social media handle to debunk the report that Adekola slept with her for roles in movies.
According to Hamzat, such incident never happened between her and the popular actor, adding that, “Odunlade is my boss and he has never asked me for anything including sex before featuring me in movies.
“They really want to tarnish the little popularity I am enjoying. I have never and will never sleep with anyone for roles in Nollywood. This is just all lies because it never happened,” she said.
