Award-winning singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has set up a five-man committee to disburse about N250 million to orphanages across the country.
The singer made this known in a statement dated Friday, 19th of November 2021, and released on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
According to Davido, he received a total of N200 million from friends, fans and colleagues as part of the N100 million challenge he kick-started few days ago.
In addition to the N200 million, he made a personal donation of N50 million, bringing the total amount of money to N250 million, to be distributed to orphanages across the country.
Since the singer began his call for donations on Wednesday, he has been sharing proofs on his Instagram story to display the numbers of senders and the amount.
However, on Friday, the singer took to his verified Twitter page to write, “Might give it all away.”
He constituted a five-person committee to oversee the distribution of the money and it is headed by Mrs. Titi Adebayo, while Prof. Jonathan Nwosu is the secretary.
The singer also revealed that he intends to do a fundraising every year to celebrate his birthday and give back the donation to the poor.
