A driver has been confirmed dead after the truck he was driving rammed into a building at Cane Village in the Maryland area of Lagos State.
The accident which occurred on Friday, October 25, 2024, was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA.
LASEMA, in a statement issued by its Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the accident was a result of brake failure, adding that two persons were injured in the incident.
Oke-Osanyintolu disclosed that the accident involved a MACK concrete mixer truck belonging to Dangote company and a TATA truck.

He stated: “Investigation conducted by the response team revealed that the Dangote truck suffered mechanical failure (brakes) lost control and crashed into a Justrite truck, whose driver was loading items before it further rammed into the building beside the road and crushed into two people in the process.
“Unfortunately, the Justrite driver died instantly. Two other victims sustained injuries and were transported to Gbagada General Hospital.
“The agency’s response team has activated necessary Safety Measures for protection of responders at the incident scene.”
He said the team has also activated traffic control measures and is currently involved in managing the traffic.
