The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the Regional Editor of Conversation Africa, Adejuwon Soyinka, who was earlier arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that Soyinka, who is the former Pioneer Editor of the BBC Pidgin Service, was apprehended by the DSS officers shortly after he arrived in Nigeria via a Virgin Atlantic flight from the United Kingdom at about 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
The journalist confirmed his release via a statement made available to The Star on Sunday.

“I have just been released by the DSS in Lagos. They are holding on to my passport, though. I am in an Uber ride ordered for me by the Deputy Director of DSS in Lagos. I will speak better when I get home,” Soyinka said.
