The Bishop of Diocese of Lagos West, Rt. Revd. James Odedeji, has urged Christians across Nigeria to always be God-conscious in their actions.
Odedeji gave the advice in his Easter message to Nigerians issued on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Felicitating Christians on the occasion, Bishop Odedeji enjoined them to take into consideration, in their actions, that God is everywhere
He stated: “We are once again in that season of the year when we mark the trial, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is indeed worth remembering that it was that self-sacrifice that opened the door to heaven to those who know and follow Him acceptably.
Bishop Odedeji: Christmas offers transformation from darkness to light
“We must always remember that Christ, the Prince of Peace, reigns and awaits the coming of His true followers.
“It is, therefore, appropriate that Nigerian Christians, after forty days of self-denial by fasting in the Lenten season, remember that it does not all end here. They should always be God-conscious in their actions, whether in public or private life, realising that God is everywhere.
“Easter also reminds us that righteousness exalts a nation, and sin is a reproach. All of us, leaders and followers alike, must be Christ-like and live as those believers in Antioch lived.
“I congratulate all Nigerian Christians for being alive to celebrate Easter, despite the economic realities facing us as a nation, but it must be done with eternity in focus.”
