The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Edo State, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has cast his vote at Idionrio Primary School at Ward 1, Unit 3 in Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area of the state.

Ighodalo had earlier condemned the late arrival of the officials of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and election materials to his polling unit on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Voting, however, commenced at the polling unit at about 11:45 a.m.

When voting started, elderly men and women were given the priority to vote first before the youth.

Speaking shortly after voting, Pa Wilson Bello said the voting process was simple and easy.

According to him, if INEC continues like this, voting would have ended by 2 p.m.

A 91-year-old man, Chief Honda Ikehide, who is the Eguaze of Ewohimi Kingdom and the eldest in Ewohimi, said the voting had been peaceful.

Ikehide urged the electorate to be orderly and patiently wait to vote for the candidate of their choice.
