The operatives of the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested two suspected internet fraudsters at the residence of popular Nigerian singer, John Njeng-Ngeng, fondly called Skales.
The suspected internet fraudsters, Udemba Chukwuemeka (a.k.a Jody) and Jamal Jamiu Onasola (a.k.a. Jamal), were arrested at the singer’s house at F10, Victoria Crest 4, Lekki, Lagos State, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
The EFCC, in a statement issued by its spokesman, Dele Oyewale, said the two suspects, suspected of being involved in a dating scam, described Skales as their “mentor”.
“While Chukwuemeka has been in Njeng’s residence for two years, Onasola has only stayed there for a few months,” it added.

The anti-graft agency noted that the arrested suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Meanwhile, Skales has shared a closed-circuit television footage which allegedly showed EFCC officials entering into his house.
The video posted on the musician’s X (formerly Twitter) account revealed that the entry occurred at 03:49 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10.
The video showed men with guns entering a building.
“Imagine this people pulling up like this to a room where my 6-month-old and my daughter and her were sleeping,” Skales captioned the video.
The singer had claimed that the EFCC operatives stormed his residence and broke into the house on Tuesday, an allegation the anti-graft agency denied.
