The Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested no fewer than 48 students of the Kwara State University (KWASU) in the Malete area of the state and two others for offences bordering on internet fraud.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Oyewale said the suspected internet fraudsters were arrested on Wednesday, February 21, in their various hideouts after days of surveillance and fruitful intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.

He listed items recovered from the suspects to include nine exotic cars, 24 laptops, and different brands of phones.
The EFCC spokesperson added that the KWASU students and other suspected internet fraudsters would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
