The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere, over alleged diversion of public funds.
Sources within the anti-graft agency told The Star that Ekere was arrested in connection with an alleged N47 billion fraud.
Ekere was Managing Director of the agency between 2016 and 2018.
The Federal Government recently ordered a forensic audit of the interventionist agency over alleged fraud.
The result of the forensic audit has not been made public.
