The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested twin brothers, Adio Taiwo Hassan and Adio Kehinde Hussein, alongside five others for alleged internet fraud in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, who made this known in a statement on Thursday, December 14, said the suspected internet fraudsters were arrested on December 7, 2023, at Apete and Apata areas of Ibadan, following surveillance and actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences.
The five other suspects arrested were Jeremiah Gabi, Dennis Gomina, Adepoju Noah Ibukun, Olabode Samson Opeyemi, and Adewumi Adeboye Ayomide.
Oyewale added that the Oyo State Police Command also handed over three suspected internet fraudsters to the Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC on December 7, 2023.

He noted that the suspects were arrested by the police while on patrol.
He stated that investigations carried out by the EFCC revealed that one of the three suspects was not involved in internet fraud and was released immediately without any bail condition, adding that the two suspects were Joseph Isaac Justice and Ayoola Oluwatosin.
The EFCC spokesperson listed the items recovered from the nine suspected fraudsters to include one Toyota Corolla car, iPhone 11, and two Samsung mobile phones, among others.
Oyewale said the suspected internet fraudsters would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
