El-Rufai sweeps polling unit, defeats PDP in Kaduna

The candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, won in the polling unit of Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

El-Rufai had earlier on Saturday cast his vote at Unguwan Sarki 024 polling unit in Kaduna State.

The Electoral Officer, Haruna Shafiu, who announced the results, said the APC candidate polled 257 votes as against the PDP’s 81 votes for the governorship election.

He announced that New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 2 votes, while ADP scored 3 votes, PRP got 4 votes, while there were 8 invalid votes.

APC also won in polling unit 026 next to where Governor El-Rufai voted with 146 votes, while PDP scored 61 votes.

The Presiding Officer at polling unit 026, Maryam Abubakar, who announced the results, said NNPP got 02 votes, while the Labour party (LP) scored 3 votes, adding that 3 votes were invalid.
