The immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has been elected the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State.
He served as Nigeria’s Chief of Air Staff from July 13, 2015, to January 26, 2021.
Abubakar, in the gubernatorial primaries held in Bauchi on Thursday, polled 370 votes to defeat four other aspirants.

His closest rival, Halliru Jika, a senator representing Bauchi Central, scored 278 votes, while Nura Manu got 269 votes.
Musa Babayo came third with 70 votes, while Mahmud Maijama’a occupied the fourth position with 8 votes.
