After months in the wilderness, the immediate past chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu, has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police.
Magu, who is proceeding on retirement, is the most senior Commissioner of Police.
Since his controversial removal as acting EFCC chairman, Magu’s fate has been hanging in the balance while he missed the last two promotions.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) promoted Magu along with other senior officers.
Other Commissioners of Police promoted to AIG are CP Abraham Egong Ayim; Okunlola Kola Kamaldeen; Andrew Amieengheme; Akeera Mohammed Younous; Celestine Amechi Elumelu; Ngozi Vivian Onadeko and Danladi Bitrus Lalas (Airwing).
The promotion of Mr. John Ogbonnaya Amadi as a Deputy Inspector General of Police was also confirmed by the PSC. Zana Bala Senchi was also promoted DIG.
