Extortion: Police return N303,000, arrest three officers in Abuja

The Police have arrested three of its men for extorting N303,000 from one Ogene Ejiro in Abuja on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Policemen arrested in connection with the extortion are Inspector Nuhu Shaibu, Sgt. Guusu Collins and Sgt. Airagbon Felix attached to the Anti Violence Squad of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Abuja.

Ogene had cried out about his ordeal in the hands of policemen.

Ogene said: “Please help me, they took me to Abattoir Police Station Guzape, I told them I am not into fraud, I showed them my business but they insisted that I am a frustrater and collected 300k from me through POS. I have evidence and I know the police officers, Please help me.”

Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest of the policemen on Thursday.

Adejobi stated that the policemen involved in the extortion have been arrested, and they are to interview the Inspector General of Police.

The Force PPRO said that the N303,000 has been recovered while necessary disciplinary action will be taken against them.
