The Federal Character Commission has debunked a report that the FCC Chairman, Muheeba Dankaka, is involved in an identity falsification scandal.

The FCC, in a statement issued on Thursday, April 27, by its spokesperson, Dr. Chuks Okoli, described the report as false, saying it was aimed at tarnishing the image of Dankaka and the commission.

Okoli stated: “The claim which was generated by an online news platform rely on fake sources to allege that the FCC Boss was not only having issue with her identity but also had glaring discrepancies in her credentials.

“We hereby condemn the publications and describe it as false, mischievous, fake and sacrilegious. The Publication was meant to denigrate the Executive Chairman, Federal Character Commission and the publishers are enemies of Nigeria.

“The alleged information by Lygel Youths and Leadership Initiatives Limited was false and aimed at tarnishing the image of the Executive Chairman and the Commission as a whole.

“Contrary to the alleged certificate discrepancies, our record, which is available for inspection, shows that Dr. Muheeba Dankaka didn’t go to school in abroad but Bayero University, Kano and Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where she obtained her certificates.

“This present malicious attempt by some individuals to tarnish the image of the Executive Chairman, Federal Character Commission after they had made several failed attempts in the past, is uncalled for.

“We would like to assure members of the public, especially the Media that the Executive Chairman, Federal Character Commission, Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, is not distracted in any way, despite all their distractions, she has remained resolute in ensuring that the Mandate of the Commission is achieved, which is presently yielding positive results for the betterment of the country,” the FCC spokesman noted.
